The Conference aims at mainstreaming gender equality in the sphere of economics and industry as a means of economical profit, in such a way also improving gender balance in the boards of Lithuanian companies listed on stock exchange.
The global research data show that gender balance is one of the factors influencing economic growth and prosperity. It is proved that gender balance-friendly companies demonstrate better organizational and financial results, as well as creative and quality oriented decision making.
The Conference is a part of the project „Closing gender gap in economic decision-making in Lithuania“, sponsored by the European Union Program PROGRESS designed to support and develop the progress in the spheres of anti-discrimination, gender equality, social inclusion and social protection. The event also reflects the continuous input of Lithuania into global deliberations on the questions of women’s rights and gender equality.
The Conference is expected to combine unique experiences and best practices of different regions and cultures, as well as will outline guidelines for further initiatives.
